Structural Engineering progressing on Phase One

August 11, 2012 - Work continues to progress on the structural engineering (work-in-progress above) for Phase One of the nonprofit Fresno Aquarium project.

After great meetings with Bob Parrish, PE of Parrish Hansen Incorporated, a local Clovis-based engineering firm, Aquarius Aquarium Institute staff anticipates that detailed final designs for the basement portion of Phase One will be completed by the end of this month.

The local philanthropic funding for the engineering was announced in a previous post. And now, as the plans for award-winning Fresno architect Arthur Dyson's spectacular design for the beginnings of the 10-acre Fresno Aquarium campus are soon to be more precisely detailed, Aquarius Aquarium Institute expects to be able to more accurately estimate construction costs for this initial portion of the project.

After clearing many hurtles to arrive at this point, everyone associated with the Institute is very excited about soon receiving the completed plan from Parrish-Hansen. Our next step will be to share these details with select local contractors and construction material suppliers, who we are confident will want to be partners in this important nonprofit community facility.

We thank all of our Building Fund donors, Sponsors, Charter Members and Volunteers who make this progress possible!
