Fresno Art Hub Paint-Around Fundraiser 2013

photo (54)

December 7, 2013 - Fresno Art Hub and A Sense of Place art galleries, located next door to one another on Van Ness Avenue just north of Fresno High School, recently hosted a unique event called a Paint-Around to raise funds for the Fresno Aquarium project and Valley Public Radio.

Five award-winning and published pastel artists, including Diane Breuer, owner of Fresno Art Hub, Ginny Burdick, owner of A Sense of Place, Roberta Davis, Suzie Stach, and LaVone Sterling together raised over $500 (5 regular concrete blocks!) for the Fresno Aquarium project when their paintings were auctioned off.

The artists worked sequentially for a limited amount of time on one another’s paintings, turning what would normally be a quiet, private experience into a spectator sport! Aquarius Aquarium Institute's living California tide pool animals, themselves a form of living art, were also on hand as an added bonus.

The Paint-Around was held during Fresno Art Hub's One Year Anniversary/Open House on November 16, 2013. We hope you will visit both galleries when you are in the area and consider tapping into your own creativity to host a "Block Party" to put your group event or company name on multiple blocks for the Fresno Aquarium!
