Endowments and Bequests
Endowments and Bequests are two powerful ways to create a lasting impact for future generations.
Bequests (through a will or trust):
This is one of the simplest ways to give.
You can name the Fresno Aquarium as a beneficiary in your will or living trust—designating a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or even a particular asset.
• No impact on your finances during your lifetime
• Flexible and easy to update
• Creates a meaningful future gift
Endowments:
An endowment is a gift designed to last forever.
Your contribution is invested, and only a portion of the earnings is used each year to support a specific purpose—like education programs, animal care, or student outreach.
• Provides ongoing, reliable support year after year
• Can be named in honor of your family or business
• Helps ensure long-term stability for the mission
Some supporters may choose to combine both—establishing an endowment through a bequest, creating a permanent legacy that continues giving well into the future.
If you’ve ever thought about how to make a lasting difference beyond your lifetime, these are two of the most effective ways to do it.
