New Herndon Ave Railroad Undercrossing Starts Construction

Rendering showing two bridges with street going under railroad tracks

This pair of new Herndon Ave railroad undercrossings will make access to the Fresno Aquarium easier.

Construction began in October 2025 by California High Speed Rail and will eliminate the existing dangerous railroad crossings completely.

Because of you, our project has the momentum to be considered in major city and state plans. You are building something that is becoming woven into Fresno’s future.

Graphic with the title West Area Neighborhoods Specific Plan wording

Even the City of Fresno recognizes your impact. The West Area Neighborhoods Specific Plan just adopted by the Fresno City Council on October 16, 2025 includes our Aquarium and trails leading to it and to the river.

You did that.

Your commitment has brought the Aquarium into the larger vision for our community’s future.

Thank you for giving Fresno something to be proud of.
