Building the Fresno Aquarium – What the Property Looks Like Today

Open land with Highway 99 and High-Speed Rail bridge in the background against a blue sky

Every major community project begins the same way—with an empty site and a shared vision.

This is where the Fresno Aquarium will rise. Today, it may look quiet, but every step forward is built on community support, shared belief, and a long-term commitment to education and conservation.

Thanks to our donors, we’ve already completed essential behind-the-scenes infrastructure—including a large fire-protection water tank, underground water main, and even a fire hydrant—investments most visitors won't notice, but without which our very first building could not exist.

We know that building something meaningful—and doing it debt-free—takes time. This Aquarium is being shaped by thousands of mostly small gifts, each one a vote of confidence in Fresno’s future.

As more people like you join in, this open ground will become classrooms, exhibits, and experiences the entire community can be proud of for generations. It will be a place where you'll connect with water, rivers, and marine life.

If you believe in that vision, now is a wonderful time to take parttogether, we’re building something that will last.

Thank you for being part of the journey—from the very beginning.
